Snow Time

A blue sky day and a sun
sparkling white world. Snow
telling a story of happily ever
after. Thankful, there is shade
enough to let slip the fox's soft
prints, to see the shreds of red fur,
and the quick, passing shadow
of the snowy owl.

Tomorrow, I'll welcome what
fits my story; white gray light
seeping toward dark.The rabbit's
twin prints fading in wind washed,
snow waves.And the lovely Deer
bending their heads in homage
to the tall Oaks but careless
of snow's power at the
hard bark of my little dog.
