Bittersweet

I think today I have an understanding of a new kind of happiness, tinged always with sadness. A lightness of heart tinged with love; loving and feeling loved.  

It’s a feeling, welcoming,  if you will, grief to the table of love, of happiness.  

Bittersweet. I think that is my word for the year. It’s a simple word. A combination of light and dark, sad and sweet, harsh even and soft. I think of them mostly in regard to chocolate! This year, I’m going to recognize and acknowledge bitter and sweet.
