Thirst

 I want to end the year with thirst. Thirst is my and the poet Mary Oliver’s word for longing, the writer Susan Cains’ word for bittersweet. Word origin to dry up except c 1200 used as a word for “vehement desire.” 

Thirst is associated with loss. I satisfy that thirst partially, temporarily with actions, distractions. Thirst is also what makes me curious, inspires me. It’s also about Stout beers, chocolate and caramel..okay maybe that’s cravings! Anyway, it’s personal…what do you thirst for?
