A Good Story

 I've been reading a bit of a book by Susan Cain, called Bittersweet. I recommend it. She talks about the different states of our darker side; melancholy, sadness. So far, she describes this bittersweetness as a creative, grateful, compassionate, far reaching state of mind. 

I'd like to think the grief in my life has a softer edge. An edge that drops into creativity, gratitude, the ability to see people, moments, experiences from connection and from slightly far away. To take a picture, a breath and remember, for the future. To capture happiness and joy on people's faces. So the story about this holiday has depth. I wish you to have a good story this holiday season.
